About Us

SpringHill is a private equity fund management company specializing in the field of life sciences, focusing upon early stage investments and development capital.

The SpringHill team has extensive scientific and technical knowledge of this highly complex and challenging industry. In addition, the team has a considerable degree of entrepreneurial and business expertise gained in life sciences companies in the US, Europe and Asia. These are companies the team members have personally created, managed, grown and listed as founders, investors, directors, mentors and executives.

Principals

Dr Kim Tan BSc, PhD, FRSM

Dr Tan is the founder Chairman of SpringHill Management Ltd, a private equity and VC fund management company. He is a director of Active Capital Trust Plc , a UK listed investment trust company. Dr Tan is the founder Chairman of AsiaPrise Biotech Sdn Bhd which operates the NCI Cancer Hospital in Malaysia, a subsidiary of TH Group Berhad. He is also a director of a number of listed and private biotech and pharmaceutical companies in the UK, USA, India and Malaysia. He is an advisor to a number of government agencies in Asia on biotechnology. He chairs the Research Expert Working Group for the Asia Pacific Economic Community (APEC) Life Science Forum. He has a Ph.D in biochemistry and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.

Mr Cameron Denny MBA, FCCA, FCMA, MCT

He is a qualified Accountant with additional qualifications in Corporate Treasury, Procurement and Logistics, as well as, an MBA. He has worked in such blue chip companies as Nabisco, Nynex and Cable and Wireless, as well as, being trained in KPMG. He spent 15 years in the Telecommunications industry, which included a period with one of the largest telecommunications companies in France, Intercomm, subsequently part of UPC, Europe's largest cable communications company. Prior to joining Springhill he worked in the Public Sector. He has worked in the Middle East, the Caribbean, the USA, France and the UK. He has a degree in Biology specialising in Microbiology.

Mr Tristan Brittain-Dissont M.A

He is an economics graduate with extensive and varied commercial experience of the life sciences industry, having worked for blue chip pharmas, biotechs, contract research organisations, and VC-backed/UK affiliate start-ups. Following five years at Merck, Sharp and Dohme and Rhone Poulenc-Rorer, he helped establish Biogen’s first UK sales and marketing operation. Subsequent to these roles he joined Covance, the global Contract Research Organisation, managing European business development functions. This led to him co-founding in 1999 Intercern, the 3i-backed patient recruitment organisation, which he left after four years to pursue a variety of consultancy projects with CROs and start-ups.
